New Tutor Application
  • Bridge Tutorial Ministries provides classroom tutoring for homeschooling families.
  • BTM provides a facility for both core and elective Middle School and High School classes.
  • 29 weeks in the academic year.
    • Classes meet on Tuesday and Thursday.
    • Each class period is 1 hour long.
    • Each subject offers 3 hours of homework plus 2 hours in the classroom per week. They add up for a 1 credit high school class.
  • Tutors are responsible for assigning homework assignments for non-class days of the school week.
  • Tutors choose their own curriculum which must be approved by the BTM Leadership Team.
  • A syllabus for each course must be submitted prior to the beginning of the school year.
  • Tutors are self-employed independent contractors, thus:
    • Tutors are responsible for collecting their own tutorial fees directly from families.
    • Tutors are responsible to pay their own taxes and insurance.
  • Tutors pay for their own personal supplies including textbooks
  • Tutors may charge a supply fee if students will be using special supplies in their class which the tutor will have to purchase.
  • In the event that they are not able to attend class, the tutor is responsible for arranging for a substitute or cancelling class and contacting the Leadership Team.
  • Tutors may set the min. or max. amount of students that they will accept for each class.
  • Tutors are required to adhere to and sign a statement of faith
  • Grades:
    • There are four grading periods in the academic year at BTM.
    • Tutors use an electronic grade book program which is provided to keep track of grades.
    • Quarterly grade sheets should be sent to parents within 7 days after the quarter ends.
  • Tutors must email all work to the students and parents no later than 9am on Monday morning. They must use an assignment sheet format which runs from Tuesday to the following Monday.
  • Tutors should refer to the Student Expectations and Dress Code to gauge their discipline policies.
  • Application Process
    • To apply for a tutoring position at BTM, applicants should fill out the online application and email it to BTMLeadershipteam@gmail.com.
    • After the application is reviewed you may be contacted for an interview.
